Moving Past #ElevatorGate

After the infamous CCTV video footage of Solange Knowles throwing some kung-fu moves; kicks and punches worthy of a karate brown belt emerged, it was only a matter of time before the Carter’s (Beyonce and Jay Z) made an official statement. With an imminent joint tour, lucrative careers and endorsement deals on the line, the A-List couple chose not to ignore the too big elephant in the room and gave a statement to the Associated Press.

In the statement, the power house duo and karate kid sister Solange, likened their family set-up as been like that of any regular family stating: "families have problems and we're no different".

This has been the first comment made by any of the three parties on #ElevatorGate. To read more on #EelevatorGate and watch video, click here www.divascribe.com/DivaUrbanWorld/Jay-Z-Attacked-By-Sisterinlaw-Solange-Knowles-a-373.html

The official statement released to the media goes on further to state: "As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it."

"Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."

After the incident which caused a social media meltdown,  there were lots of speculation on what may have transpired to bring on the attack on Jay Z. Talks of Rihanna and California based designer Rachel Roy being parties to the burst up  were rife. However, the notoriously private couple chose not to acknowledge any of the speculations, but instead defended slurs made that Solange was under the influence of alcohol.

"The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false," the statement continued. "At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."

Now that’s the A-List way of putting potentially damaging publicity to bed. Would it stop many from prying and speculating, most probably not, but it would definitely somewhat enhance their bank balances.
